DODGERS ANNOUNCE AUGUST WINNERS OF DODGER PRIDE AWARDS Sept. 2013

Player – OF Theo Alexander was selected as the August Dodger Pride winner for the AZL Dodgers as he closed out the campaign with a .392 on-base percentage. During the course of the season, Alexander excelled with runners on base, hitting .292 (14-for-45), and finished the season with a .253 overall batting average, five homers and 20 RBI in 27 games. The 19-year-old was originally selected by the Dodgers in the seventh round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft

Who is Theo Alexander? 

When a player is released, as I was in August of 2015, I asked myself that very same question. Who am I? I instantly answered I am baseball.

I started playing baseball when I was 5 years old and I have never stopped nor is it time for me to stop now. I am only 20 years old (21 on August 25th). I have a lot of baseball still to play.

This last year has taught me a lot of tough life lessons and I chose to take the high road and better my life. It made me question my love for baseball and was I done? I had the perfect opportunity to be done, but baseball runs in my blood. I am going to do everything in my power to be THAT success story. Hopefully my life lessons will be a lesson that up and coming baseball players will learn from and even though they think it will never happen to them, know that IT does happen to those who think that. Trust me.

Whats next for me? A Lot! I am working out with the best inspirational, motivational trainer every week. I am going to find all of the "open walk on work outs" and if I am not picked up by another team I will be going to the California Winter League for the Independent Frontier Baseball League and hopefully picked up from there to a team! 

I am not done playing baseball, I have really only just begun.
